An International Celebration of Hops.

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Hāpi Festival for 2020!

Hāpi Festival is is a gathering of the most exciting breweries from around the world, coming together to share their hop forward beers and celebrate the 2020 NZ hop harvest.

This is a unique chance to taste beers not typically available in NZ, and meet the brewers behind them. Hāpi Festival will be held at Te Whaea National Dance & Drama Centre on the April 4th in Wellington NZ.

The Hāpi Research Symposium also returns and is expanded to a full day programme to be held on April 3rd at The Opera House in Wellington NZ. This is an industry focused Symposium with brewer focused technical presentations and talks. Event page here: Hāpi 2020 Symposium

There will also be a selection of Garage Project beers and a range of low and non alcoholic options.

Your ticket includes:
Entry to the Hāpi Festival
The official Hāpi Festival glass - 350ml made by Rastal
Two 100ml tasters and one full 250ml pour (up to $20 in value)

Credit Cards & Eftpos are the only accepted forms of payment.

There will be no cash accepted.

Beer will be served in 100ml tasters or 250ml full pours.

Water is free and located at multiple stations throughout the festival. A selection of non alcoholic drinks and low alcohol drinks will be available.

Hāpi is an R18 event. As per the law, if you look under 25 you will be asked for ID.

While the event is R18 under 2s can enter for free with a ticket holding guardian.

Bars will close at the time stated on your ticket (3pm or 9pm).

All guests will be required to leave the building within 30 minutes of the bars closing.

No gluten free beer is available.

A variety of food vendors will be available including vegetarian & vegan options.

Your ticket gets you access to the Hapi festival only.

Hāpi 2020 is a unique opportunity for the brewing industry to connect and learn. A selection of the world’s best breweries have been invited to New Zealand to share their hop forward beers and techniques with New Zealand brewers and beer fans alike, all while celebrating the 2020 NZ hop harvest.

There are two components to Hapi 2020: an industry focused Symposium and the public facing Festival detailed here.
