Welcome to the Wild Workshop Cellar Door - your chance to step inside our central Wellington brewery.
The Wild Workshop is our playground for creating all things weird and wonderful: barrel-aged sours, spontaneous ferments, beer-wine hybrids, and tanks brimming with fruit. When visiting, you'll sit in amongst our amphoras and foeders, soaking up the sights and smells of a working brewery.
The Wild Workshop is open for general trade one Saturday a month over winter, 2 pm - 8 pm. On all other Saturdays, you can use the booking form below to come in for a private tour and tasting (details below)! We’ll also be throwing events regularly - head to @garageprojectww on Instagram to see what’s coming up.
Upcoming general trade open dates are:
On these days, we open up our Wild Workshop brewery for you to taste our lovingly crafted liquids in the place where they were made. Expect new releases, exclusive one-off beers straight out of the barrel, special appearances from our cellar, and delicious food specials - all for tasting and takeaway. Our crew is ready and waiting to talk you through each taster, answer any questions and gently guide you through the world of the Wild Workshop.
You can grab flagons of beer and wine from our six taps - BYO flagon or grab one of ours. We highly encourage reusable vessels and have several great options - and we'll fill anything that seals! Single-use plastic is bad for the planet, so every time you refill your PET is a win for the environment. If not the taps, you can grab a selection of cans and bottles from the fridge. We make sure to always have the freshest releases in the fridge, wild or not, alongside singles and six-packs of a range of our classics. Check out our next tap lineup below!
Kids are welcome, with the supervision of their parents or legal guardians. We are devastated to say that doggos can't enter this space - a working brewery! Please bring them by our bar and cellar door in Aro anytime, so that we can lavish them with affection.
For the first time ever in a Garage Project brewery, we can now offer hour-long private tours through the space - the ultimate sensory exploration! On these tours, groups will have a dedicated crew member as their guide. You’ll be taken through a range of weird and wonderful beers and wines made in the brewery as you walk through the barrels and tanks, learning about the process of brewing and cellaring, with some delicious morsels to match.
Book through the form below, or get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire further.
We ask everyone who enters our venues to do so in the spirit of our values, which are laid out in our Safe Spaces Kaupapa just here.
