It’s May, time for the latest instalment of FRESH IPA.
It’s a ripper of a recipe this month, showcasing some classic hops and leaning into a few tricks we’ve picked up over the years.
The malt base is built of plump pilsner malt, smooth oats and a touch golden naked oats, to bring a juicy honey sweetness to this autumnal brew.
In the boil there’s judicious addition of Idaho 7, a hop that really comes into its own with a little bit of heat, creating fantastic notes of tropical fruit salad.
It’s then loaded up with classic NEIPA dry hop favourites, Galaxy, Citra and Simcoe, delivering a massive tropicana juice box aroma and big super ripe mango and pineapple mouthfeel, all floating in a smooth golden oat hazy. Everything you’d expect from a FRESH monthly.
